Manama – The National Audit Office:
The National Audit Office (NAO) applies training plans and programs to enhance the legal knowledge of its employees. The training familiarizes participants with the characteristics and types of legal rules, sections and branches of the law and the legal framework for dealing with the entities subject to the NAO’s audit in accordance with the legislative means in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Furthermore, the NAO continues to establish and promote a code of ethics and professional conduct to be followed by its staff when performing their duties and job assignments which is consistent with the requirements of the standards issued by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). The code aims to reinforce principles such as integrity, objectivity, independence, credibility, competence, professionalism, confidentiality, and dealing professionally with conflicts of interest and job obligations.
In this context, the NAO organized training programs conducted by the NAO's Legal Advisor, Mr. Amr Nassar, which were attended by employees from various technical and support directorates.
The programs included a definition and explanation of the foundations and frameworks for dealing legally with the entities subject to the NAO’s audit and the most important laws and regulations related to the NAO’s work. In addition, participants were introduced to the code of ethics and professional conduct and the rules to follow in connection with this.
