The National Audit Office (NAO), in cooperation with the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), organized a five-day webinar on auditing public debt, which was attended by 27 participants from 14 Arab entities.
The webinar was conducted by Ahmed Buti, Audit Supervisor Regularity Audit at the NAO and covered topics such as the definition and types of public debt, the law’s role in defining public debt components, and the strategic importance of public debt at state level. In addition, the webinar included a presentation on global experience in managing public debt.
Ahmed Buti discussed how to plan the audit of public debt and conduct financial, compliance and performance audit of public debt. Furthermore, he touched on the most important guidelines for auditing public debt known as GUID 5250.
