The National Audit Office participated in the annual symposium of the Working Group on the Impact of Science and Technology (WGISTA) on “Financial Audit of INTOSAI”, which was held in cooperation with the Supreme Audit Institution of the United Arab Emirates.
A representative of the NAO attended via videoconference, colleagues Ahmed Buti, Audit Manager at the Regularity Audit Directorate, Elham AlMulla, Audit Manager at the Information Systems Audit Department, Maryam Taleb, Audit Manager at the Administrative Audit Directorate, Somaia AlMeer, Audit Manager at the Administrative Audit Directorate, Alaa AlDerazi, Senior Auditor at the Regularity Audit Directorate, and Abdul Rahman Al-Hajri, Senior Auditor at the Regularity Audit Directorate.
The symposium, titled "Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, Governance, and Auditing: Challenges and Opportunities," discussed digital procurement policy, digital currencies, blockchain technology, cybersecurity, AI governance, emerging technologies, and NLP.
Also, the symposium discussed the basics of quantum computation and its potential use, emerging trends in government-wide enterprise applications and how AI could impact auditing.
The lectures presented models and cases related to these topics in the United Arab Emirates, China and the United States of America.
