Winners of the Gulf Research Competition and employees with new certified qualifications received.
H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), stressed the NAO's keenness to invest in human capital and national competencies, develop the capabilities of its employees, and support and motivate them to obtain recognized international professional qualifications to raise performance levels and the quality of services provided.
He pointed out that the NAO conducted training and qualification programs throughout the year for its employees at all levels, raising the technical, logistical and technological competencies of its staff, which qualified the NAO to be in the ranks of advanced SAIs.
This came as H.E. received on Thursday morning the employees who won first place in the fifth competition of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Research and Studies in the field of auditing and accounting, who participated in the programs of the INTOSAI Initiative (IDI) and who obtained professional certificates. H.E. congratulated the employees on their achievements and wished them every success for their future.
H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed pointed out that there was a constant and dynamic need for the development, modernization and introduction of new programs that keep pace with the latest developments in the auditing field especially with regard to digital and technological aspect and digital transformation.
Maryam Ebrahim Taleb and Somaia Saleh Almeer, audit managers at the NAO’s Administrative Audit Directorate, won the GCC competition.
Mahmood Hashim Mahmood, Administrative Audit Director obtained the professional CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics) qualification.
Abdulrahman Mohammed Falamarzi, Senior Auditor at the Performance Audit Directorate, obtained the professional IDI Certified SAI Performance Auditor qualification granted by the INTSOAI Development Initiative.
H.E. encouraged all NAO employees to gain more experience, refine their skills, and make use of the qualification and training programs provided by the NAO for their own benefit and for the benefit of NAO’s work and the auditing profession in general.
For their part, the colleagues expressed their happiness with their achievements and their appreciation for the support provided by the NAO which enabled them to achieve their ambitions and progress further in their profession.
The NAO pays great attention to providing ongoing training and professional qualification courses for its employees through programs that comply with the international audit standards issued by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) in order to strengthen their professional and technical skills. It also runs a professional development program via a scholarship system for its staff to obtain one of the internationally accredited professional qualifications in auditing and accounting such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CIA, (Certified Internal Auditor), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), and CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
The reception was attended by HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, NAO Undersecretary for Administrative Audit, HE Mr. Fayeq Ali Dhaif, NAO Undersecretary for Financial Audit, and other senior NAO officials.
