H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on McLaren's victory in the Formula 1 World Constructors' Championship for the first time in 26 years, and their first place at the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024.
H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed said that this achievement was a testament of the His Majesty the King’s astute directives and his keenness to continue working towards the kingdom’s comprehensive development goals, and the support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his belief in international championships and races to make a mark in the global arena.
H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed explained that these outstanding achievements of the McLaren team confirmed their excellent performance level which enabled it to achieve top positions on the podium. He continued that this victory added to the series of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s global sports achievements and serves as a source of inspiration ant motivation for the people of the country.
