Manama – National Audit Office:
The National Audit Office (NAO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain reviewed its readiness to implement the initiative to reformulate the concepts and terminology used in INTOSAI’s auditing standards.
The Steering Committee of the Professional Standards Committee of INTOSAI selected the NAO to head the team responsible for the project, as part of the organization's strategic development plan for the years 2023-2028, which includes 5 initiatives.
The meeting gave its full attention to the implementation of this important initiative whilst also discussing other initiatives within the strategic development plan. Attendees praised the NAO’s readiness to implement the initiative at the end of the meeting.
The discussion recently held in Bulgaria was attended by NAO representatives Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Butti, Director Regularity Audit, and Ms. Abrar Hassan Al-Sayegh, Audit Supervisor at the Regulatory Audit Directorate. It reviewed initiatives to develop the standards and guidelines applied by Supreme Audit Institutions around the world.
The NAO is the only Arab body selected to implement one of these initiatives, and the only one of the five initiative leaders to attend the meeting of the Forum for INTOSAI Professional Pronouncements (FIPP) to discuss the final plan for the implementation of the initiative in January.
