In 2023, the National Audit Office of the Kingdom of Bahrain will host one of the meetings of the Forum for INTOSAI Professional Pronouncements (FIPP), the body of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) designated for assessing and approving professional pronouncements.
H.E. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General at the NAO, said that Bahrain's hosting of this important meeting added to the Kingdom's achievements and progress, as number of representatives of member Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) from around the world would attend the meeting.
H.E. stressed that the meeting constituted an opportunity to enhance joint work, exchange experiences and build bridges between international organizations and SAIs.
The NAO has been a member of the Forum since January 2020 which facilitates the development of international standards for SAIs, ensures their technical quality and consistency, and promotes public-sector auditing of a high quality.
In addition to the NAO of Bahrain, the Forum includes the SAIs of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, the United States of America, Canada, Australia, India, Tunisia, Nepal, Guatemala, Latvia and Bulgaria, as well as the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), the European Court of Auditors and AFROSAI.
Since 2005, the NAO has been a member of INTOSAI’s Professional Standards Committee (PSC) as a representative of the Arab Organization for Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI).”
