His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), said that the NAO continued to support its employees to obtain internationally accredited professional qualifications to develop their technical capabilities.
He called on all NAO employees to keep up with the latest developments in auditing and accounting and to acquire more experience and knowledge especially related to technology and artificial intelligence as both would significantly shape the future. He encouraged employees to benefit from the qualification and training programs provided by the NAO in this regard.
This came during H.E.’s reception on Wednesday morning for Amina Saleh Abbas Aldoseri, Senior Auditor - Regularity Audit, for obtaining a certificate of competence as Certified Supreme Audit Institution Financial Auditor from the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), and Fatema Mohammed Abdul Rahim Abusaif, Senior Auditor - Regularity Audit, who obtained the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) professional qualification. H.E. congratulated both employees on their achievements and wished them every success for their future.
The INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) is affiliated with the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and ACCA is awarded by the British Association of Certified Public Accountants.
The NAO pays great attention to providing ongoing training and professional qualification courses for its employees through programs that comply with the international audit standards issued by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) to strengthen their professional and technical skills. It also runs a professional development program via a scholarship system for its staff to obtain one of the internationally accredited professional qualifications in auditing and accounting such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CIA, (Certified Internal Auditor), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), and CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
The number of technical employees with professional qualifications until the end of last August is 47, which is about 47% of the total technical staff working at the NAO.
Amina Aldoseri and Fatima Abusaif attributed their success and ability to obtain these certificates to the support provided by the NAO to its employees and its provision of development programs to enhance their professional and technical skills.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Deputy Auditor General Fayeq Ali Dhaif, and H.E. Assistant Deputy Auditor General Regularity Audit, Basma Abdul Rahman Alahmed.
