Manama – National Audit Office:

The National Audit Office (NAO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the 31st meeting of the Steering Committee of the Professional Standards Committee of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which was held via video conference on 7^th September 2026, representing the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI).

The NAO was represented at the meeting by Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Albuti, Director of the Regularity Audit Department, Vice-Chair of the ARABOSAI Professional & Audit Standards Committee, and Head of the Terminology Initiative Team of the INTOSAI Professional Standards Committee (2023-2028).

Several topics related to the development of INTOSAI professional standards and pronouncements were addressed at the meeting.

It is worth mentioning that since 2025, the NAO has held the position of Vice-Chair at the Forum for INTOSAI Professional Pronouncements. Furthermore, since 2022, it has been the Vice-Chair of the ARABOSAI Professional & Audit Standards Committee.

In addition, since 2005, the NAO has been participating in the Steering Committee of the Professional Standards Committee (PSC), representing ARABOSAI, reflecting its continuous presence and contributions in the field of professional standards and pronouncements at regional and international levels.
