198 countries attend INCOSAI in Brazil.
The National Audit Office (NAO) participated in the twenty-fourth Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, November and was attended by about 800 members and observers from 198 countries.
The meetings, which were attended by NAO representatives Dr. Isa Alnoaimi, Assistant Undersecretary Administrative Audit, and Mr. Maitham Saeed Hasan, Audit Manager Performance Audit, reviewed the organization's strategic plan for the period 2023-2028 and approved its budget for 3 years.
Furthermore, necessary measures to develop and revise the International Standards for the Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs) were discussed and a practical guide to Combating Corruption was issued.
In addition, the organization’s vice president was announced and members of the Board of Directors and heads of the main committees were elected.
Dr. Isa Alnoaimi moderated a Group Discussion Session on “The Role of Supreme Audit Institutions in Emergency Situations”, which was organized on the sidelines of the Congress.
Institution at the plenary, highlighting the importance of SAIs to adapt their work procedures to the demands of emergency situations and stressing the need to adopt new technology.
