Manama – The National Audit Office:
The National Audit Office (NAO) participated in the 10th Environmental Audit seminar and the 10th working meeting of the Environmental Audit Working Group of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI WGEA), which were held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
These events were jointly hosted by the National Audit Office of China, The ASOAI WGEA Secretariat, and the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia and attended by a representative from the NAO Bahrain, Ms. Zainab Hamid Jaafar, Audit Manager at the Performance Audit Directorate of the NAO.
This participation came within the framework of strengthening the NAO's capabilities in the field of environmental audit and developing the technical skills of employees in specialized fields.
The seminar included an environmental sector audit discussion focusing on the topic of "Solid Waste Management Audit" and provided a platform for presentations and fruitful discussions in this vital field.
The two-year work plan was discussed, as well as INTOSAI activities and regional work reports, while the third Green Vision Award was announced, which recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of environmental auditing.
