The National Audit Office (NAO) held a training program for diplomatic staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on financial and administrative audit in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies.
The two-day webinar was conducted by trainers from the NAO: Mr. Ahmed Buti, Audit Manager Regularity Audit, Mrs. May Alkhulaif, Audit Manager Regularity Audit and Mr. Yusuf Aljawder, Audit Supervisor at the Administrative Audit Directorate. 15 diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the training.
The program gave a description of financial audit, its objectives, its audit stages such as planning and risk assessment, how it is conducted, and explained the responsibility of the concerned entity’s management towards the financial audit process and its outcome.
Furthermore, the training provided an outline of administrative audit, its objectives and scope, its audit stages such as planning and implementation, preparing and issuing reports, and following up on the implementation of recommendations.
On top of that, the participants learned about the NAO’s inception, its law, the audit standards governing its audit work, the audit types it carries out, the types of audit reports it issues, the international organizations to which it belongs, and the technical expertise of its employees.
