Sheikh Ahmed: Practicing sports for a healthy and active society.
His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), said that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Sports Day, which is celebrated in February each year, emphasizes the importance of physical activities to create a healthy and active society.
He expressed his appreciation for the support that the youth and sports sector received from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and for his majesty's interest in the younger generation as they are a building block in the promising future of our society. He praised the efforts of the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister in supporting the youth and sports sector in treating sports as a way of life.
His Excellency praised the successful support of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, for the Bahrain Sports Day activities with the aim to promote the health of Bahrain’s society.
The NAO organized a sports and health program for its employees. This included a virtual awareness session on healthy nutrition and tips for exercising at the workplace which was presented by nutritionist Hanouf Al Rayes from the Royal Bahrain hospital. In addition, employees took part in a walking event in the Seef area close to the headquarters of the NAO.
