Manama – The National Audit Office:

The National Audit Office (NAO) attended an international training course organized by the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) and the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India on "The Use of Data Analysis and Emerging Techniques in Auditing".

The three-week course, which was attended by Mr. Abdulrahman Alhajeri, Senior Auditor at the Regularity Audit Directorate, introduced the participants to the use of data analysis tools and modern auditing techniques to enhance their skills in data preparation, analysis and presentation. In addition it provided a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences with experts.

The course discussed data analytics and the use of statistical concepts and the KNIME/Tableau/Power BI data analysis tools in auditing. Participants learn about understanding the Python programming language and its uses and emerging trends in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.

Furthermore the training examined blockchain technology and the best practices of AI applications in governance: healthcare, education, smart cities, and others.
