Follow- Up and Evaluation Working Group meeting chaired by Bahrain

Ms. Aysha Ahmed Adam, Director of the Human and Financial Resources Directorate at the National Audit Office (NAO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, chaired the fifth meeting of the Follow-up and Evaluation Working Group on the Strategic Training Plan for the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was organized by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and held via video conference.
In addition to Ms Aysha, the following representatives from the Training and Professional Development department at the National Audit Office of the Kingdom of Bahrain attended the meeting: Ms. Qotoof Abdulwahab Naqi, Supervisor, Ms. Amina Abdulkhaleq Bu Ali, Senior Specialist, and Ms. Khawla Abdullatif Almudawi, Senior Specialist.
The team discussed the recommendations and the results of the strategic training plan for 2023-2025, one of which was the organization of Gulf seminars and periodic workshops between the SAIs in the GCC countries to exchange experiences and knowledge in auditing and the latest developments.
In addition, it was recommended to discuss the experiences and procedures of the SAIs for assisting their employees to obtain specialized professional qualifications in auditing which also benefitted the SAIs. Furthermore, it was proposed to develop a plan to enhance cooperation and partnership with the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) to develop the skills of employees in the GCC SAIs.
In the meeting it was also recommended to develop a plan to enhance cooperation between the organizational units of the SAIs concerned with training to benefit from experience and expertise in this field.
During the meeting, the team discussed the implementation of the initiatives in the strategic training plan for 2026-2028. It was recommended that the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council coordinate with the SAIs in the GCC States on the suitability of the dates for receiving documents related to the implementation of the initiatives and circulate the form for the operational plan and the follow-up report to be completed by the SAIS and sent to the General Secretariat according to the dates specified in the schedule and to be referred to the NAO in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
