Reception for Newly Certified Employees.

Manama – National Audit Office:

H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), stressed the importance of training, enhancing institutional and professional capacities, and staying up to date with the latest developments in the auditing and accounting profession, especially those related to technology and artificial intelligence.

H.E. called on all NAO employees to broaden their experience, refine their skills, and benefit from the qualification and training programs provided by the NAO, not only for their own benefit but also for the benefit of their work at the NAO and the audit profession.

This came during a reception in H.E.’s office this morning for a number of employees who obtained new professional qualifications: Maryam Ebrahim Taleb, Audit Manager at the Administrative Audit Department, who obtained the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certificate, Maryam Abdul Razzaq Albalooshi, Senior Auditor at the Regularity Audit Department, Ishaq Abdulaziz Alqaed, Senior Auditor at the Administrative Audit Department, and Ali Malik Hussain, Senior Auditor at the Administrative Audit Department, who all obtained the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certificate in the presence of senior NAO officials.

The Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is granted by the American Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), while the Institute of Internal Auditors of the United States (IIA) awards CIA certifications.

H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa congratulated all employees on their achievement, wishing them further progress and success. He stressed that the NAO would continue to invest in human cadres and national competencies, and enhance technical, logistical and technological capabilities.

The NAO pays great attention to providing ongoing training and professional qualification courses for its employees through projects and programmes that comply with the international audit standards issued by the International Organization for Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) to strengthen their professional and technical skills.

In addition, the NAO runs a vocational qualification program for its staff through a scholarship system to obtain one of the internationally accredited professional qualifications in auditing and accounting such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CIA, (Certified Internal Auditor), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), and CMA (Certified Management Accountant). Currently, 54 employees constituting 53% of NAO’s technical staff have professional qualifications.

For their part, the employees expressed their delight for their achievements and their appreciation for the support provided by the NAO to obtain the qualifications and noted that they would continue to enhance their technical and professional skills.
