Manama – National Audit Office:
The National Audit Office (NAO) participated in a series of training courses on the use of technologies in audit work to develop the technical capabilities of its employees to achieve added value for its audit work output.
The courses were held based on the ongoing technical developments in the audit field and the NAO’s training strategy to keep pace with these developments and continuously enhance the capabilities of its employees. The training included amongst others the use of investigative analysis and electronic discovery programs (IDEA) and (Axiom Magnet).
Participants learnt about specialized programs such as Active Data, Power BI and Power Point, to automate tests and control processes and analyse and display data and reports. The training helped participants identify the tools and features available in the programs to analyze and deal with data including big data, how to link different data sources, analyse unusual patterns and how to display analysis and audit results in a new and interactive way.
In addition, participants learnt how to use PENTANA, an automated audit management system used by the NAO, to manage and document all stages in the audit process.
Members of the NAO's investigative audit team participated in specialized courses on investigative analysis and electronic discovery.
Employees from all technical, support and legal affairs departments participated in specialized training courses on the techniques used in audit work, which were presented by Ms. Somaia Almeer, Audit Manager at the Administrative Audit Directorate, Ms. Zainab Humaid, Audit Manager at the Performance Audit Directorate, Mr. Abdulrahman Husain, Audit Manager and Ms. Maryam Alqetami, Senior Auditor at the Regularity Audit Directorate, and Ms. Muneera Jumaan – Senior Graphic Design Specialist at the Human and Financial Resources Directorate.
