Celebrating the Founder of the Modern State and the Leader of the Institutional Renaissance in Bahrain's History this year should be designated the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer"

HE Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), praised the Royal Decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to name this year the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer" in celebration of the founder of the modern state and the leader of the institutional renaissance in the history of Bahrain.

HE stressed that this royal initiative reflected the great interest of His Majesty the King in preserving the memory of the nation and commemorating those who contributed to building the country and consolidating its stability in various eras.

He pointed out that His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies, left a national legacy and an impressive record of achievements and honours that strengthened the political, economic and cultural position of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

HE praised the various economic, cultural and service development projects underway in Muharraq, which had offered an environment for good governance to thrive during the reign of HH Isa Al Kabeer, through initiatives enhancing awareness of the country’s history and its great men, and through the royal order of His Majesty the King of Bahrain to preserve the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain's buildings and cities, revive Isa Al Kabeer's Palace and develop Muharraq.

He commended the continuous follow-up and guidance by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to preserve the historical and cultural identity of the ancient city.
