Manama – National Audit Office:

H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO) met with H.E. Shura Council Chairman Mr. Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and handed over the NAO’s 22nd annual report for the professional year 2024/2025.

During his meeting with H.E. the Shura Council Chairman, H.E the Auditor General expressed his appreciation for the significant role played by the chairman and members of the Shura Council in the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

H.E. Shaikh Ahmed said: "The National Audit Office adopts a positive approach in the preparation of its reports and follows the laws and regulations in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the standards and technical guidelines issued by the relevant international organizations to ensure that the national interest is preserved.”

H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa extended his thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his continuous support and patronage of the NAO, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his directives to government entities to implement and follow up on the recommendations in the NAO reports.

He pointed out that, during the last professional year, 104 audit tasks were completed, resulting in 84 issued reports, in addition to 104 follow-up reports to verify the implementation of previous recommendations. He added that approximately 1,224 recommendations were issued.

During the 2024/2025 professional year, the NAO’s follow up efforts on the results of the implementation of previous recommendations confirmed that audited entities had implemented or started to implement 84.9 % of the recommendations, an increase of 0.2% compared to the previous professional year.

The meeting was attended by H. E. Mr. Fayeq Ali Dhaif, Deputy Auditor General of the NAO for Financial & Performance Audit and senior officials from the NAO.
