Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed: Positive Approach for audit observations and recommendations.
His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), said that the NAO would continue to enhance cooperation, partnership and the exchange of views with the entities under its audit mandate, to improve performance levels and the quality and efficiency of services provided to citizens according to international standards.
During his meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak in his office this morning, HE Sheikh Ahmed stressed that it was important to follow a positive approach when dealing with audit observations and following-up on the recommendations in the annual reports issued by the NAO was important.
HE Sheikh Ahmed congratulated Eng. Al Mubarak on the royal trust bestowed on him and his appointment as Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and wished him every success in his new role. He praised the cooperation between the Municipal Affairs and Agriculture Ministry and the NAO audit teams which facilitated their audit mission and stressed that he was looking forward to enhance this relationship to strengthen the principles of integrity, transparency and professionalism to contribute to achieving the goals of the comprehensive development process under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He explained that the NAO constantly strived to strengthen cooperation and partnership with all ministries and government entities covered by its audit mandate to ensure the implementation of its recommendations to serve the national interest.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, commented on the level of professionalism of the NAO’s staff and affirmed that his ministry was ready for more cooperation and coordination to reach the desired goals.
This meeting forms part of an overall effort to expand cooperation between the NAO and the entities covered by its audit to serves the national interest.
