The NAO participated this morning in the virtual session of the 21st meeting of Deputy Auditor Generals from Supreme Audit Institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The meeting was represented by Deputy Auditor General, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Director of Public Relations and International Cooperation, Mr. Mohamed Hulaiwah, and Head of Training, Mr. Abdulrahman Bukhammas.
Participants discussed the outcome of the 16th meeting of the heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions in the GCC which was held on the 17th of October 2019 and reviewed further joint audit issues.
In addition, they examined the topics of the 5th GCC Competition for Research and Studies in the field of Auditing and Accounting, and discussed the adoption of the Abu Dhabi Declaration on “Enhancing Cooperation between Supreme Audit Institutions and Accounting and Anti-Corruption Authorities to prevent and combat corruption more effectively.”
Participants also studied the agenda of the seventeenth meeting of the heads of the GCC Supreme Audit Institutions, which will be held on the 20th of this month and reviewed the minutes of the twenty-eighth meeting of the Training and Development Committee.
