The Training and Development Committee of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) discussed the topics proposed by the National Audit Office (NAO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding the implementation of the operational plan of the strategic training plan and the training programs approved within the training plan for the years 2024 and 2025.

The implementation of the operational plan aims to develop the capabilities and skills of employees of GCC SAIs, exchange experiences, enhance cooperation in skills and knowledge development, scientific research and vocational qualifications as well as develop institutional capabilities in training, development and expertise.

In addition to these proposals, the 35th meeting, which was held virtually on Monday, discussed the report of the GCC General Secretariat on the programs implemented for the training plan 2023, the preparation of an applied study on the topics of the sixth GCC for Research and Studies competition in the field of auditing and accounting, and the signing of memorandums of understanding with the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), based in Norway, and the King Fahd National Library, based in Riyadh.

The NAO in Bahrain had prepared the final draft of the training plan for employees of GCC SAIs (2024-2025), which was approved by the Heads of the GCC SAIs 20th meeting held in October 2023.

It is noteworthy that the Training and Development Committee of the GCC SAIs had approved, during its meeting at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh last July, the operational plan model and the follow-up report on its implementation submitted by the NAO Bahrain for the implementation of the strategic plan (2023-2025).

The meeting was attended by representatives from the NAO Bahrain: Aysha Ahmed Adam, Human and Financial Resources Director, Qotoof Abdulwahab Naqi and Ayda Abdullah Alqaed, both Administration Superintendents, and Yusuf Almahmood, International Cooperation Superintendent.
