Executive Management attends webinar on Forensic Audit presented by International Expert.
The NAO arranged an online session on Forensic Audit for executive management which was attended by His Excellency the Auditor General, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
The session, presented by international expert Ian Ross, provided a brief about Forensic Audit, the areas it covers, the expertise it requires, its importance in providing added value to the public sector and how it can assist the NAO in carrying out its mission of verifying the soundness and proper use of public funds and their proper management.
Furthermore, participants were informed on how Forensic Audit can be employed to strengthen the partnership with the entities subject to the NAO’s audit and provide value to stakeholders especially with view to its role in implementing governance, ensuring transparency and accountability. The session also discussed how this type of audit can contribute to the ultimate objective of supreme audit institutions of “making a difference in the lives of citizens”.
In addition, the latest international trends and topics in the field of Forensic Audit were reviewed.
The session was attended by the Deputy Auditor General for Administrative Audit, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, and for Financial Audit, Mr. Fayeq Dhaif, the Assistant Auditor General for Regulatory Audit, Mr. Majeed Ateya, for Administrative Audit, Dr. Isa Alnoaimi and for Performance Audit, Mr.Qasim Al-Madhoub, the Legal Adviser, Dr. Ramzan Alnoaimi, and the Director for Administrative Audit, Mr. Mahmood Hashem.
It is noteworthy that the presenter, Mr Ian Ross, has 30 years of experience in compliance, risk management and financial crime investigation and prevention. He has worked for government, regulators and private agencies, and is a listed expert at the International Criminal Court of Justice (The Hague).
