Manama – The National Audit Office:
The National Audit Office participated in the first accounting forum at the Bahrain Polytechnic, where colleague Abrar Hassan Al-Sayegh, audit supervisor in the Regulatory Audit Directorate, presented a working paper in which she explained the work and tasks undertaken by the NAO and the types of audit it exercises.
She also referred to the skills required of the auditor in the public sector, and the new trends in the auditing profession, reviewing the NAO’s employee scholarship system to obtain professional qualifications, and some general statistics related to the NAO, such as the percentage of Bahrainisation, which reached 97%, and the percentage of technical employees who hold a professional qualification, which is 46%, in addition to the percentage of youth employees, which is estimated at 59%.
The forum, which was held under the title “A Prosperous Future through Technology and Accounting Innovation,” was attended by about 150 university students from the third and fourth year levels, in addition to our colleague Al-Sayegh, a group of experts and specialists in auditing and accounting.
The forum discussed a number of topics, such as promoting sustainable development, encouraging students to seize opportunities in the age of artificial intelligence, and inspiring them by presenting the experience of successful Bahraini leaders in the four major auditing companies operating in the sector, and ways to develop their skills, enhance communication and cooperation between professionals working in the field of accounting. As well as empowering them to become leaders in this field.
