The National Audit Office joint training program with the Supreme Audit Institution of the Sultanate of Oman on “Analyzing Financial Statements and Detecting Irregularities Using Modern Techniques”.
The program, which was held in Muscat, aims to enhance and develop the skills of members of SAI Oman in the field of financial statement analysis, and was attended by 27 participants from the Omani SAI, in addition to Amina Al Dosari from the NAO of Bahrain.
The program discussed number of topics, including the concept and importance of analyzing and auditing financial statements, international standards for analyzing and auditing financial statements, analyzing data using financial ratios, fraud detection strategies in analysis, financial analysis in investments, and the latest practices in detecting financial irregularities in light of technological developments.
The program was lectured by Mr. Muath Al-Abbasi, Audit Manager in the Regulatory Audit Directorate at the NAO, and Ms. Zayana Al-Hinai, from SAI Oman.
