Manama, Apr. 4 (BNA): On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa received the National Audit Office (NAO) annual report and audited financial statements for the year ending on December 31, 2022 from NAO President Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa to be submitted to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The minister praised the NAO’s efforts in preserving public funds, verifying its safety and legality, and ensuring the highest levels of productivity, efficiency, and employment of resources by adopting the latest international practices.
Shaikh Khalid stressed the important role played by the office as one of the fruits of the reform project of His Majesty the King, referring to the independence granted to NAO by law, which enabled it to perform its effective role in preserving the gains of Bahrain.
NAO president said that the office’s financial data confirms the its vision as an independent oversight body that works with high professionalism, indicating that the development, progress and success achieved by the office since its establishment is due to continuous support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He stressed the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his directives to ministries and institutions to cooperate with the NAO, which facilitated the implementation of tasks and the preparation of reports professionally.
The auditor general emphasized the principle of a positive approach in preparing reports and carrying out tasks, and raising the level of cooperation with all entities covered under the office's audit, and helping them to improve their performance in accordance with international control standards.
Shaikh Ahmed pointed out to the programs and initiatives implemented by the office on an ongoing basis, which would develop work and raise its efficiency, especially those related to training employees, digital transformation and strengthening the legal aspect, which contributes to raising the level of services provided of all kinds.
