The training organized by the National Audit Office (NAO) of the Kingdom of Bahrain in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf on "Auditing the Health Sector" kicked off on Monday with 27 participants from Bahrain and other countries.
The two-day webinar aims to introduce participants to the various audit procedures related to the health sector and how to implement them.
In his welcoming speech the Assistant Auditor General for Performance Audit, Mr. Qasim Almadhoob, said : "The National Audit Office of the Kingdom of Bahrain believes in the importance of these training sessions as they contribute to the development of capabilities and provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences in the audit field, which enable human cadres to face challenges, meet work requirements and keep pace with the constant developments in this field."
He praised the topic of the meeting, noting that the INTOSAI principles emphasize the value and benefits of Supreme Audit Institutions and their role in making a difference in the lives of citizens in various fields of which health services was one of the most important ones. He wished the participants every success with the training.
The lectures will be presented by Ms. Huda Buheji, Director - Performance Audit, Mr. Maitham Saeed, Performance Audit Manager, and Ms. Zahra Almezaal, Audit Supervisor at the Performance Audit Directorate at the NAO of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The course discusses the concept of the health system, the types of health services provided, the risks associated with the health sector and the audit procedures for this sector as well as practical applications and participants’ experiences in auditing the health sector.
