Manama – National Audit Office:

His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Auditor-General of the National Audit Office (NAO), emphasized the importance of linking employee training and development programs and strengthening institutional capacities with modern technology and artificial intelligence, which has become a means present in the finer details of business and contributes directly to raising the level of proficiency in parallel with the speed of achievement.

His Excellency stated that the NAO pays special attention to technology, developing its tools, programs and plans to ensure that it keeps pace with the latest developments and updates, particularly those related to the auditing and accounting professions.

This came during His Excellency's reception in his office this morning of a number of employees on the occasion of their obtaining professional qualifications, Marwa Youssef Saif, Senior Auditor in the Performance Audit Directorate; Zahraa Abdulhadi Al-Bagali, Senior Auditor in the Regulatory Audit Directorate; Zainab Abdulrasool Mubarak , Senior Auditor in the Performance Audit Directorate, Ahmed Mohammed Al-Jalahma, Auditor in the Administrative Audit Directorate, who obtained the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) certificate, and Hassan Saleh Shehab, Senior Auditor in the Regulatory Audit Directorate, who obtained the ACA (Certified Arab Auditor) fellowship.

His Excellency called on all employees of the NAO to gain more experience, further hone their skills, and take advantage of the qualification and training programs offered by the NAO, which will benefit them, the auditing profession, and the work of the NAO in general.

The CIA qualification is awarded by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in the United States of America. The Certified Arab Auditor (ACA) is a specialized professional training program launched by the Saudi General Auditing Bureau in cooperation with the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) as part of efforts to enhance the capabilities of auditors in Arab countries and raise their professional competence.

The NAO implements a professional qualification program through a scholarship system to obtain one of the internationally recognized professional qualifications in the field of auditing and accounting, such as CMA, ACCA, CPA, CIA, and CISA). By the end of January 2026, the number of technical staff with professional qualifications reached approximately 59 employees, constituting 57% of the total number of technical staff at the NAO.

For their part, the employees expressed their happiness with this achievement, appreciating the support provided by the NAO to enable them to obtain these qualifications, noting that they will continue to enhance their capabilities and raise their professional and technical levels.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mr. Faeq Ali Dhaif, Deputy Auditor-General and a number of senior officials in the NAO.
