Female employees at the National Audit Office (NAO) said that since its establishment, the NAO had been a role model for empowering women and advancing them in their professions and within the organization, as it offered an exemplary work environment and provided them with opportunities to advance and assume various management positions.
They emphasized that the achievements of Bahraini women would not have been possible without the excellent support and diligent follow-up of the country’s leadership, as they assumed their roles next to the Bahraini men and proved their efficiency and competence.
The percentage of female employees at the NAO reached 48% of the total workforce, while 43% of the NAO’s supervisory and managerial positions are held by women, a percentage that confirms the competence of Bahraini women and their ability to assume responsibility and contribute to achieving set goals.

Basma Abdulrahman Alahmed, Director - Regularity Audit, said, "This year, the Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates Bahraini Women's Day and the Bahraini Women’s contributions and achievements in work, family and in public life, acknowledging and highlighting their prominent role and successful accomplishments in all fields thanks to the promotion of support and empowerment of Bahraini women which was led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
She added, "Today, we are happy and proud that Bahraini women excel in leadership positions, contribute to the development of the Kingdom of Bahrain and raise its image on a local, regional and international level.”
Alahmed indicated that this year’s celebration of Bahraini women coincides with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the NAO, which, since its inception, had been a role model for empowering women and advancing them in their professions and within the organization, as it offered an exemplary equal opportunity work environment and provided them with opportunities to advance and assume various management positions.
For her part, Aysha Ahmed Adam, Director - Human and Financial Resources, confirmed that the NAO provided significant support to women as it offered a suitable work environment for their needs and was committed to apply the principle of equal opportunities in recruitment, training and scholarship procedures for obtaining professional qualifications.
She pointed out that these achievements would not have been possible without the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as the patronage of Her Royal Highness Royal Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and President of the Supreme Council for Women.

In addition, Mona Hassan Issa Buhusayyen, Audit Manager, expressed her pride in the NAO’s support for Bahraini women, and its keenness to adhere to the principle of equal opportunities assigning important audit and managerial positions in various fields to its female staff.
She explained that Bahraini women had proven their worth and their ability to assume responsibility since the launch of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Karima Isa Ahmed Alshaikh, Audit Manager, congratulated Bahraini women on their special day and said: "My mother, my sister, my daughter, my teacher, my friend, happy new year. Trust that the fields in which you can participate are limitless. All fields are open to you without any discrimination as long as you have the right competence and skills. The NAO is the best proof for this. I am grateful to the NAO family for supporting me, enriching my career and reaching where I am today.”
Zainab Hameed Ali Jaafar, Audit Supervisor, referred to the advanced steps taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain in terms of empowering women and supporting them in taking an active role in various political, economic and social fields. Bahraini women have become a major and active partner in the development process of the country and honorable examples at all levels and in all fields.
In turn, Maryam Hammoud Ahmed Alkaabi, Audit Supervisor, considered Bahraini Women's Day a special national day to honor society's women in various sectors in appreciation of their efforts and their national role, which was one of the results of the development and reform project of the leadership of the country.
She continued, "I am proud and honored to be a member of the NAO team, where the work environment is exemplary and job and training opportunities, scholarships and promotion are offered without discrimination. We look forward to progress and prosper further and move our country to a promising future."

Alaa Abbas Ibrahim Alderazi, senior auditor, said, "I read, I learned, I participated, - a slogan used at the start when our great great-grandmothers joined early formal education in 1928, and which continues to inspire the promising and ambitious Bahraini women's participation in the comprehensive national development process in partnership with Bahraini men.
"On Bahraini Women’s Day, we renew our pledge to our country and our leadership, and we will strive to achieve further progress for our beloved Bahrain," she added.
Sara Kazem Humaid Alarayedh, Senior Auditor, extended her warmest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife His Majesty and President of the Supreme Council for Women, and to all Bahraini women and members of the NAO.
She emphasized that the Bahraini women working at the NAO had proven their competence and ability to lead audit teams and provide value-added recommendations and reports that would contribute to the development and improvement of government services in line with the directions of the country’s leadership, the government's work program and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Economic vision 2030.
For her part, Zahra Abdulhadi Ahmed Albaqali, auditor, explained that the recent development and growth witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain confirmed that Bahraini women were empowered and an integral part of Bahrain’s society.
"I am proud to belong to a country that believes in women's contribution and their effective role in political and national development work, and I believe that Bahraini women still have a lot to offer and prove to the whole world that they are capable of turning the impossible into reality," she added.
