The National Audit Office - Bahrain chaired the meeting of the working group on audit rules for the supreme audit and accounting institutions (SAIs) in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which was held via video with representatives from member states and from the General Secretariat.
The meeting discussed the draft of the general audit guide for the GCC SAIs, related comments, the draft framework for the joint audit guide, and the proposed timetable for updating and reviewing other joint audit manuals.
Draft quality assurance procedures for publications by audit teams working for GCC SAIs were also reviewed.
The participants of the meeting agreed to hold the next working group meeting in June 2021 via video call.
The Bahraini team included Muath Abdulghaffar, audit manager at the Regularity Audit Directorate, who chaired the meeting, Ahmed Barhoom, audit manager at the Administrative Audit Directorate, and Abdulrahman Bukhammas, head of training.
