Delegates from the UAE Supreme Audit Institution visit Bahrain.
His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), and His Excellency Humaid Obaid Abushibs, President of the Supreme Audit Institution of the United Arab Emirates, discussed the strengthening of relations, cooperation, exchange of experiences and possible joint audit training for their employees for the benefit of both countries.
This came at a meeting with the delegation of the UAE Supreme Audit Institution headed by H.E. Mr. Humaid Abushibs during their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
H.E. Sheikh Ahmed and H.E. Mr. Obaid Abushibs praised the friendly and strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, which had been nurtured by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
H.E. Sheikh Ahmed spoke about the NAO’s current plans, programs and initiatives to develop audit skills and raise efficiency especially in relation to training national cadres, digital and technological transformations, and legal aspects in order to raise the level of services.
H.E. Sheikh Ahmed stressed that modern audit services had expanded to include forensic auditing and the NAO was interested in enhancing the capabilities of its staff in this field by periodically reviewing current policies and manuals to ensure tasks are completed professionally.
In addition, the meeting discussed international auditing developments, the importance of auditing standards issued by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), and the need to update them to keep up with developments.
