Jeddah – National Audit Office:

H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Auditor General of the National Audit Office (NAO), participated in 15^th General Assembly of the Arab Organization for Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), which was held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The General Assembly endorsed the previous meeting’s agenda, the report of the Governing Board on the follow-up of the Organization’s activities and the actions it took to ensure  implementation of the previously approved work programme, as well as the financial report of the Chairman of the Governing Board on the financial position of the Organization and the audited financial statements for the previous session.

During the meetings chaired by the General Audit Bureau of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it was agreed that SAI Morroco will host the 16^th General Assembly.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed the Strategic Plan Committee’s report on the achievements for 2023-2028, and approved the Organization’s work programme and budget.

The General Assembly elected the members of the new Governing Board, the heads of the Strategic Plan main committees, and appointed the Financial Audit Committee.

The meetings included a technical seminar on SAIs' Capacity Building Experiences, which included three topics: "Strategic Directions and Planning for Building the Capacity of SAIs: An Approach to ISAI 150 on Auditor Efficiency", and "Managing the Capacity Development Process and Measuring the Impact of Training". The third topic dealt with "reviewing the successful experiences of SAIs in the field of developing the institutional capacities of their members".  

It is noteworthy that the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) was established in 1976. It includes all Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in the Arab member countries of the League of Arab States and is one of the regional organizations accredited by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

The meetings were attended by the National Audit Office (NAO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The delegation from the NAO was headed by H.E. the Auditor General, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, accompanied by Ms. Aysha Ahmed Adam, Director - Human and Financial Resources, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Buti, Director – Regularity Audit, Mr. Mohammed Isa Alaradi, Audit Manager - Administrative Audit, and Mr. Mohammed Fuad Sater, Manager - Auditor General’s office.
